QUANTREFY and right° enter partnership to achieve the 1.5 degree target.

Frankfurt, June 01, 2022 – QUANTREFY, the world’s first provider of an ESG implementation platform with a digital ESG assistant for the real estate industry, and right°, a climate tech company from Frankfurt and pioneer of the so-called “Temperature Alignment” metrics, are entering into a strategic partnership: QUANTREFY is the first system to integrate right’s X-Degree Compatibility (XDC) model into its own ESG implementation platform. The XDC model calculates the climate impact of buildings or portfolios in degrees Celsius. This makes it possible to directly compare whether the building will contribute to achieving the 1.5-degree target of the Paris Agreement or how far away it is from reaching this target.

The XDC metric is fed into QUANTREFY as a further key indicator alongside GRESB, ECORE and CRREM in order to determine the current climate path (known as “temperature alignment”) for the ESG performance of assets and portfolios. This value is then available as an additional parameter in the dashboard and can be included in the automatically generated reports to show the sustainability of the portfolio.

The next development step is to generate concrete proposals for action, called VISIONS, which will lead to an improvement in climate impact. It will then also be possible to forecast the likely effects of certain optimization measures on the XDC results. QUANTREFY is the first software solution to integrate the XDC model into its own software platform in this form and depth.

Justus Wiedemann, Managing Director and founder of QUANTREFY: “Our aim with QUANTREFY as a central ESG platform is to make all processes relating to ESG optimization available to customers in a transparent manner. We are therefore very proud to have right° as another strong partner at our side to provide concrete operational optimization recommendations based on the XDC model – offering our clients further added value for the optimization of their assets.”

By integrating the XDC model, the climate impact of buildings is not only measurable, but also directly translated into concrete steps to reduce it. In combination with QUANTREFY’s entire database, not only the climate impact becomes more transparent, but also its origin, as the CO2 drivers can be identified more easily.

Hannah Helmke, founder and managing director of right°: “We can only achieve the Paris target together – and that is only possible if each individual can prove that they are doing their part, in other words their 1.5°C building or 1.5°C portfolio. We are therefore delighted to be able to provide a more comprehensive view of the climate impact of assets through our partnership with QUANTREFY and thus offer customers the basis for actively working towards the 1.5°C target.”

About QUANTREFY

QUANTREFY stands for intelligent ESG optimization that goes beyond the mere collection of data. The software solution bundles the most important ESG scoring models in one system, delivers corresponding key figures per asset or portfolio and at the same time provides optimization suggestions for improving KPis.

The company, headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, was founded in April 2021 by Managing Director Justus Wiedemann. Based on his expertise in the development and implementation of ESG strategies, Wiedemann developed the idea of an automated tool that is able to recommend actions based on the available data and enable implementation. QUANTREFY was named a top 100 impact tech company by Tech for IMPACT Map, a collaboration between BUILTWORLD and PwC.

About right°

right. based on science GmbH (right°) creates transparency on the climate impact of economic activities – plain & simple in °C. With right‘s software tools and metrics, decision-makers from the real estate, finance and real estate industries can pave their way to 1.5°C compliance and make their climate-related decisions based on the best available science and data.

right° was founded in 2016 by Hannah Helmke and Dr. Sebastian Müller and is a pioneer of so-called “Temperature Alignment” or “Implied Temperature Rise” (ITR) metrics. The specially developed X-Degree Compatibility (XDC) model is science-based, transparent and, since 2019, freely accessible to the academic community through Project right. open. The basic methodology is peer-reviewed and was published as an open source application in 2021.

In 2020, the company received the Next Economy Award of the German Sustainability Award. Hannah Helmke received the Digital Female Leader Award in the same year and the Female Founders Award from AmCham Germany in 2021.
